I do it if it's nothing more than a very light coat of dust

I usually go out to the garage to answer my phone when customers call (to avoid the screaming kids inside). While I'm out there talking I inevitably pick up a MF and some ONR and wipe down the hood of my wife's DD. It doesn't hurt it at all. Don't know if I would want to do the whole vehicle like that including rocker panels, etc. but it gets weekly 2BM washes anyway.

One thing for sure, if you want to clean your car, sooner or later you have to "touch" it.

I've seen questions about whether or not spray detailers are safe or not all my life and you always have other options, like a normal car wash.
