YEAH.. GOT ALL IMAGES TO LOAD !

Went to an Antique car show today.
Amazing how many of the cars were finished to a lower standard than our forum members have come to expect.

I saw a vette with dried polish embedded in the lettering and some cars that had wax that was not even buffed out.

The first 2 images are of a Concours winner.
wwhaaaa? The second shot shows a nice size patch of haze from a poor or unfinished polish..

The next two are just some roadside attractions.

I'm always surprised at the finish quality on a lot of "show cars"

I asked several judges about the standards for paint finishes and the standards are all over the place.
At a local car show on a golf course near me they would allow a LOT of faults in the finish. Swirls, holograms, wax left in seams. All would be given a pass if the car itself was interestinf enough, or costly enough.

But at the Concours at Pebble Beach the standards were as high as you can go. NO flaws of any kind were allowed. Slight dust specs or a fingerprint will be a downgrade. Even dirt in a tire tread is a markdown. And the judges don't miss ANYTHING!
That's probably why it is my favorite car show. And all the cars are chosen to be contestants from the absolute cream of the crop. Winners from other prestigious shows and very special one off cars, and race cars are among the few invited.
