So had a canister of those flat tire fixers like this below and unfortunately it broke some how. Luckily I had in the tray area of the trunk. However it left a very strong smell in the trunk that seeps into the cabin, smells like fuel vapors. how do I get rid of it? The odor has somewhat absorbed into the carpet of the trunk. Any suggestion on how to remove smell?

You might try using Folex on the carpet in the trunk first and then try some of these products for anywhere else you notice the smell. Maybe throw one of those air freshener bombs in the trunk. air fresheners, car air freshener, air fresheners for cars, odor eliminator, odor remover, air freshner (http://www.autogeek.net/auto-air-fresheners.html)

Although a air bomb would work i think those are only for lingering smells (unless they absorb in the carpet as well). For stains the simplest method ive used is some simple Fabric Clean from Chemical Guy's diluted 5:1. It has neutralized many stains and orders on the clients ive worked on and leaves the cabin with a pleasant very mild lemon scent.

Meguiar's has the "odor eliminator" over the counter, it works very well: Meguiars Car Odor Eliminator is a quick spray solution to interior car odors. Meguiars Car Odor Eliminator does not mask odors - it eliminates them! (http://www.autogeek.net/megcarodel.html)

Chemical guys also has some excellent odor eliminators, like this one: Chemical Guys Extreme Offensive Odor Eliminator Concentrated 16 oz. (http://www.autogeek.net/chemical-guys-extreme-offensive-odor-eliminator.html)

But first you'll have to really clean up the stain (303 Fabric cleaner is excellent), otherwise the smell won't go away.

I've tried both the Megs stuff and Chemical Guys, and all they did was smell real nice for about 24-48 hours and then it goes away. I guess I'll try and scrub the carpets and see what that does.
