first off, sorry for two threads in one sitting but I figured since they're entirely different subjects I would be better off keeping the threads seperate.

this is the interior of my 2010 Ford F150 King Ranch.

the first problem area is the faux wood grain and the faux chrome trim on the console, dash and shifter. they are obviously not real and are not of the highest quality. they're swirled and pitted and look absolutely horrible, especially when the sun is shining. how can this be corrected? there is a wood grain panel on each door that looks just as bad.

second, the King Ranch seats - mine are in pretty good shape and have no stains, tears, or excessive wear. I'm more concerned about preventative maintenance in this case. I use LeatherCPR leather conditioner on every leather surface in the truck - seats, headrests, steering wheel and center console lid, usually twice a month, more if it gets messy. I bought the LeatherCPR because several other King Ranch owners recommended it for its quality results, price, and ease of use. put on with a foam applicator, let it soak in for a few minutes, work it in a little with the same applicator and then wipe it dry with a clean microfiber. anyway, since these King Ranch seats are infamous for fading, cracking, staining easily, and just looking horrible in general over time, I just want to make sure I'm doing everything possible to keep mine looking good.

as a note they did recently change the composition of the King Ranch leather that goes into the Ford trucks so that it would be easier to maintain. but that was for the 2011, and mine is a 2010. I still have the high-maintenance stuff.

third problem area - the plastic over the gauge cluster. much like my wood and chrome trim, it's swirled and pitted and looks gross, and can be hard to see in direct sunlight. looking for corrective method/products.

and last but not least, the touch screen. there are some marks that have been in it since I bought it. they look like fingerprint smudges but will not clean off with LCD cleaner and even have a slightly abrasive feel. I would be thrilled if I could make these disappear because they have been bothering me since the day I bought this truck.

they're a little hard to see but one is right near the center, up a little. and the other is about 1.5 inches to the right of the first one.

thanks in advance.

Take some time to read through my replies in this thread, there are a few and some of them are very meaty as removing swirls and scratches out of small components by hand is kind of tricky to teach using a keyboard.

These pics are from page 5 of the above thread after a forum member used the techniques I share...
