Hi all,

Well I get my brand new Golf GTI this week, I have always looked after my cars but this one will out do them all :) I have always been a fan of Meguiars until recently when I decided to look outside the box and wow the amount of products out there is a bit overwhelming. So far I have decided I am going to run with Pinnacle, I have a few questions as I want to make sure I get it right the first time, the colour of the car is Carbon Steel and I would like some advice on whether what I have written below seems about right:

Full detail
Wash with Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo (http://www.autogeek.net/pinbodsham.html)
Clay with Pinnacle Ultra Poly Clay (http://www.autogeek.net/ultra-fine-poly-clay.html)
Paint Cleanse with Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion (http://www.autogeek.net/pinpainclean.html)
Polish with Pinnacle Advanced Finishing Polish (http://www.autogeek.net/pin230.html)
Wax with Pinnacle Signature Series II Carnauba Paste Wax (http://www.autogeek.net/pisisepawax.html)

1 - Will all of this be likely required with a brand new car?
2 - How often is too often to follow this whole process if I have it right?
3 - Is there anything else I should also be adding into this process?

In between full details (weekly or fortnightly)
Wash with Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo (http://www.autogeek.net/pinbodsham.html)
Wax with Pinnacle Crystal Mist Carnauba Detail Spray

1 - I feel I need to be doing more in between, maybe a polish also?

Hopefully you haven't all fallen asleep with the short story I have just written :)

Thanks

Rachel

Probably either the Paint Cleanser or the Polish. In any event, the Paint cleanser would be immediately before waxing. Polish 1 or 2 times a year - only as requied. You can paint cleanse and clay (with Pinnacle) more often, if you feel necessary.

If you want to do more, you could add a spray wax periodically as part of maintenance.

As you found out there are a lot of products out there. Just find something that works for you and stick witk it.
Yes a good detailer/spray wax will help yopu keep up with you cleaning.

Wheels. I would go with the mothers all wheel and tire cleaner, and some brushes to scrub the wheel. I would then finish it off with tire shine like meguiars endurance
