I originally planned on taking a lot of pics and doing a proper thread on it but after I started working on that clear coat pictures went out the window it is gonna be a long couple of days.

I did snap a couple of cell phone pics to text the owner I guess I can upload those and some finished shots later. Please remember my hobby is detailing not pictures bare with the quality.

ETA

Pics coming downloading to ipad from PB is taking longer than I thought.

As an owner of a black C6, I can truly sympathize.

The clear is so easy to mar, but it is a pain to correct!

I started with my normal go to starter SwirlX on a yellow pad for the first test spot, two reasons it lets me get my speed and work area down I tend to go to fast and to big of a work area at first. Six passes 4 medium to hard last 2 medium to light. This did nothing like expected.

Out came D300 on MF cutting pad, also make sure to buy 3 inch MF kit ASAP. Did a couple of test spots with different arm speed, pressure and passes per section. Ended up 4 med to hard passes wipe mist pad with D155 4 more hard passes then clean pad with air per section.

Couple of test spots.

Last black Jeep I did I went from D300 to D301 and was happy with it but wanted to try a step in between this time I went with UP on a yellow pad speed 3 medium pressure, I made it look darker to me I might just be trying to justify the extra step, but here is a pic anyway. D300 followed by UP ready for D301.

Looking good! Corvette clear coats are very hard and are not the easiest to buff out.

My last order I got a no.845 sample and a BFWD sample I used no.845 last weekend and loved it. Decide to top D301 with BFWD.

and tucked her away for the night while BFWD sat.
