I'm looking to get a new car for the family, and I've found a 2003 Sequoia w/ the TRD package. It's the Phantom Gray w/ 52,000 miles. The dealer is asking 21,900, but after all the taxes and other fees it ends up being about 23,900. Is this the best I can expect or should I be able to get it for less. I really want it, but I'm the type of guy who always wants a deal. Thanks for you help!

typical markup on used lots is 3500.00 - 5000.00 depending on the vehicle. Advertisements and long term units dont apply. Do some homework ....

Do your homework as suggested and walk in there with what you think a deal is and tell them that's what you're going to pay. It is really easy to talk down a used vehicle, not so much a new one. Or better yet, if you have straight up cash you'll get a better deal than anything else. Good luck and keep us posted.

I did a lot of checking around, and it seems to be a fair deal. It has the TRD package, which was 41K new in 2003. It comes w/ the Borla exhaust, leather/suede seats, BBS 18" wheels, billet grill, and carbon fiber accents. The package is 6K upgrade when new. If I can just get the guy to come down a little I'd be heading to get it on Friday.

I agree with Yardie, walk in there with a check and pay cash for it.

Remember: cash talks, bullsh*t walks.

It's about 5 hrs away, so I want to be pretty sure I'm going to get it before heading that way.

Make sure to check the brakes, the last Tundras/Seqouias had quite a few issues with the brakes, pry the only thing my buddy didn't like about his Tundra. Other than that, solid truck.
