Aztec Hot Rod Portable Spotter - 1 2 Vacs - 60psi - 1400 Watt Heater Upgraded Model - Hotrod - Auto (http://www.steam-brite.com/aztec-portable-spotter-stage-vacuum-motor-60psi-1400-watt-heater-upgraded-model0262-p-4724.html)

Anyone have one of these, or use one? I am in the market for a detailing hot water carpet extractor and since I don't detail commercially, I don't need a huge extraction machine. My garage is only a standard two car; so, I don't have the room for a large floor machine; this one seems to maybe be what I need.

According to the site, it has 102" lift, 60PSi and heats to 200 degrees; that all seems to be sufficient...what do you think?

I was in the same situation as you. I bit the bullet and "made extra room" and bought the mytee lite 2. I haven't regretted it since. If I'm honest it isn't that big of a machine, it's a little bit larger than a shop vac and the hose assembly can be detached and hung on the wall separately, it's actually a pretty compact machine considering the power under the hood. Oh yea and it's an AMAZING carpet extractor.

Hope this helps

I purchased the Aztec Hot Rod from AG a few months back.

I have used it about a 1/2 dozen times so far, and I have been very pleased with my results (came from using the LBGM). Read some reviews online, and most seem to like the Mytee Lite, however, I have had ZERO troubles with mine, and ZERO issues with removing some very nasty stains.

Heating the water takes time, but if planned right you will start it before you start to tackle other areas and when your ready, it's ready. I have used it and hand the steam from the hot water come off the carpets/seats, etc. Yes, the draw back is the holding tanks so far, but I have yet to have a multiple car need in a single day for it, so at this point it's no issue there.

Small and packs away easily in my gargae (with cars parked inside).

I know the PSI ratings are different, I have not used the Mytee Lite, so I can't compare, but I am very happy and very pleased with the Aztec and what it can do at the moment.

The Aztec is a good machine. We got to use it and the Mytee lite at boot camp. If room is an issue, you may do well with the Hot Rod. But, if you can swing it, I would go with the Mytee lite. It has larger capacity, better pressure, hotter temp and you can use cleaners in the solution. For an extra $25 or so, it seems worth it to me. It will be my next extractor if my Durrmaid dies. It would have been my first if I had known how well it works.

We use both the Mytee lite 8070 and the Aztec Hotrod in my Detailing Boot Camp Class and they both work great.

Robert pointed out the main differences here's my take,

The Mytee Lite has a 3 gallon capacity so if you're detailing interiors for money then you can work longer before having to empty the holding tank and refilling the solution tank.

You can mix an all purpose cleaner that's states it can be used in an extractor into the solution tank but keep in mind, if you have cleaning solution in the tank then you're always injecting the carpet or upholstery with cleaning solution.

With the Aztec Hotrod, it is not recommended to use an APC in the solution tank, only, clean water. With this type of extractor you want to first use a dedicated carpet and upholstery cleaner to loosen and emulsify an offending stain and then wet extract it using only hot water.

I would highly recommend getting the clear, transparent extraction head because it makes it very easy for you to see your progress as shown by these pictures taken at our last Detailing Bootcamp Class.
