I bought a set of used headlight covers off eBay and they have scratches like some one tried to clean them with an abrasive saner in a few spots. They are dark smoked so I don't know how it will effect them. Is there a way to sand them and polish/buff the smooth and shiny again?

Yes, sand 800 grit, followed by 1500, compound with something like megs 105 or optimum compound and your done, but check before you do that, some smoke/tint the outside of the lens and some do the inside, if inside sand away :)

I'm looking forward to your results. I've polished many clear plastic items that were "soft" and got good results, but, I always end ip with very very fine scratches that are only visible in certain lights. I've tried Meg's plastic polish, Mothers, Quixx, and a few others. I'm talking about the type of plastic that's on instrument clusters, convertible windows, etc..

Thank you. I will give that process a try. I'm not sure how to determine if the tint is inside or outside.

Sorry to hi-jack, but doesn't your stang haul a**?! I swear to you, my '13 GT(3.73's, brembo, 6M) feels faster than my 07 z06!

EXPRESSDETAIL.......THANKS:xyxthumbs:

FIVEPOINT.0........I never raced a 07 Z06 but I know my stang will spin 1st-2nd and all the way through third. I use to own a 02 Viper RT/10 and I swear this car feels faster!! I only took it to the track once last year. It was hot and humid (wasn't the best day for racing) and I had bad wheel hop and had to shift into 5th gear since I have stock tires on it. I know this car has much more in it:dblthumb2:
