Well guys, I'm officially starting appointments April 1st. I have a few clients lined up, but havent made appointments yet. I haven't really advertised much yet either. (I just have a few nice flyers that I am going to put up.)

I've got everything accounted for:

4 orders from AG for MF's, chemicals, water filter, PC7424 HD, pads, etc. etc.

Sample bottles and 5gal. buckets.

1500 premium bus. cards and flyers.

T-shirts, appointment book, case for keeping client info, label maker, etc. etc.

All machinery including extension cords and hose, toolbox for PC, etc.

Also all the misc. trips to wal-mart, pep boys, target, autozone, meijers, etc. etc.

Basically, every penny I've spent.

Total cost: $1750 +/- $50

Here are the pics of all my stuff for the most part:

Gongrats and best of luck, the only think im wonderinf (not to be an ass) is where are all the mf clothes. Even if you dont use them on 1 detail you wil go through tons and tons of mf's. Just a thought... order as bulk as you can as you will use them

Good luck in the future

Mike

Looks good! I hope you do well. I just got a flyer in my driveway in a Ziploc bag with a stone in it. He was just driving around the neighborhood throwing them out the window in driveways. $25 basic wash, $50 Full service wash $75 Exterior Detail $99 Exterior\Interior Detail. There is no mention of paint correction he states “hand applied wax includes buffing”. I would assume this means buffing as removal. Just thought I would share.

Good luck with your buisness !! I've only been working off word of mouth and everyone will agree and say it's the best advertising.

Looks like you have everything but a step ladder?? Get some latex or nitrile gloves for applying tire shines and other solvents. I wear chemical gloves when I wash to keep my hands from drying out and cracking. Just some tips!

I grabbed a cheap pair of those yellow gloves for dishwashing etc., but I'm not to fond of them. Any suggestions of what kind and where to get them? I want something that's quality and easy on/off.

I'm giong to look into a step ladder soon. Until then, I just have a nice Meguiar's brush to do the top of large vehicles.

My gf and I put about 150 of my bus. cards on luxury vehicles the other day. I may be putting flyers in mailboxes, but I'm not sure. I'm heavily relying on WOM. I also only plan on doing 2-3 vehicles a week unless things really get going.

I have the nitrile / clear latex from wally world (only use one at a time) right handed tire shine applier... and my rubber gloves are from Home Depot. They are light blue gloves (household cleaning section) with dark blue section that covers your forearms. The fingers are rough textured, so I just put my hand on the outside of the schmitt and if the schmitt missses say some tar or grime the gloves will take care of it without scratching. Great investment !!
