Well havnt seen a topic about this so decidided to create it, My story starts with my sister inviting me to dollar tree (98 Cent store), usually I like to stay away from these kinds of stores because usually the merchandise is all 100%, however I did not have much to do so I went and was just browsing some of the isles and found the cleaning section and noticed this

Im sure it has a lot of uses like spreading wax:

Another thing that I saw was a window cleaning wand type of stuff (all cheap but alright microfiber) that regret not buying there and then.
I Also bought some 2litre spray bottles now I know 100% these things will not last me an eternity and will proablably break but for 1 dollar cant really say no.
Ill proablably will be visiting next week and see what else I find anyways if you have the money get the stuff from AG its more durable but if you have one of these store close its worth checking out.
Just to wrap it up what are your finds? trades? ETccc. Comment.Im the MAN:cruisin:

Five gallon paint buckets from Lowes or Home Depot. Same darn thing as what some folks would call a wash bucket. I guess that fancy insignia on the bucket makes it a wash bucket. If it can hold paint it sure as heck can hold soap and water for about $5 ea. and you can get gamma lids for them for another $8 each.

I've found a lot of stuff at the dollar store. Scrub brushes work pretty good from there. Microfiber sponges (for bug guts), foam sponges (trim restorer applicators), tooth brushes, q-tips lots and lots of things.

Just was at a dollar store the other day and found flat microfiber cloths for two bucks each. They work great for wiping off compound and swirl remover.

From the dollar store:

- 4oz, 3 pack dispenser (sprayer + regular) = $1 (got 10 packs for a total of 30 bottles)
- Tire brush (the very same one like Mothers) = $1.50
- Spoke brush (the very same one like Mothers) = $1.50
- Carpet brush (the very same one like Mothers) = $1.50
- 32oz spray bottle (holding up with IronX very well, SO it can't be garbage) = $1.25 (got 10 of those, for OPC, APC+, 303 Cleaner, 15% IPA, 25% IPA, Wheel Brightener, etc)
- Paint brush (extremely soft, to clean interiors, wrap metal parts with duct tape before use) = $1 (got 3 of those)
- Measurement cup (I've checked and it's precisely correct) = $1

Those brushes and dispenser bottles sell for $5 to $7 here on AG, plus all the crazy shipping costs to Canada.
And I prefer paint brushes over those round Swissvax brushes.

My wife pops in to Biglots, and I can always find something car related. Its away to test a product on the cheap, but often times its on its way out and they got it as its being discontinued.

Sally's beauty supply store which is fairly popular near me has all different size squeeze bottles and squirt bottles for a decent price.

I've purchased a bunch of stuff from our PA close out store chain called Ollie's. They bought out a line of car detailing items that were marketed under NASCAR. I've purchased tire, carpet, and wheel well brushes all about $2.50. Several tire foam applicators for around $2. 4 packs of foam and microfiber wax applicator disks $1.49. Windshield microfiber cloths like the kind you clean your glasses with but about 6x6" marked Goodyear about $1.50 for 2. I got some nice large microfiber towels for drying the car at Big Lots for about $5 each.

Thanks for the Sally's tip. I've got one very close by and never thought of them for bottles.

BUMP just in case anyone missed this - the Sam's Club microfibers don't lint, they are extremely soft, and very plush after the first wash. After years using them for a multitude of purposed, they just blow me away...

FOR LESS THAN 50 CENTS EACH!!!!!!!

You can even buy 4 different colors, and keep interior separate from paint, and wheels separate from glass! WOW.

:xyxthumbs: I get those too. great deal. I have seen "premium" towels out there and they aren't any different. I use one color just for windows and another just for wax. once they get a little bit tired they get used as "beat towels" for general cleaning.
