Not sure about tire whitewalls. but I'm really interested in the matte finish it supposedly leaves on the interior

right now its in my cart with some other goodies:awesome:

Whitewalls are a must on some cars. This is my wife's 57 Tbird and it wouldn't look the same without them.

Hey Sparkie, Yes it was a great car. I'm sorry to say that we sold it about 4 months ago. My wife didn't drive it very much and she didn't want me to drive it either. It was as close to perfect as they come. We had it for 6 years and only put about 3000 miles on it. It got first place at about every car show that it was in. Well I'm always looking for something new (old). HB

Have always used steel wool (SOS) on mine, but it's a mess to clean up. Will have to try lacquer thinner - thanks!

Back in the early 60's, when whitewalls where still popular. I just used SOS pads. Worked great, washed off with a hard stream of water.

Thanks for the tip. I currently use the ww cleaner from Duragloss on the Vette but I'll try the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

You really ought to try this, a friend of mine has been doing this for years and it hasn't affected his tires. It works better than anything else I have tried.

Never thought I'd get to see a 5 page post on WW tyres. That is a beautiful looking 'vette by the way.

Eimann Fabrik Tire Cleaner & Whitewall Brightener is specifically designed to clean tires also contains optical brighteners to clean and refresh whitewalls and white lettering. Some tire cleaners contain bleach to brighten whitewalls but bleach can turn the carbon black in tyres a dull gray colour –

Note: Westleys Bleache White- contains Butyl Cellosolve (2-butoxyethanol)Sodium Met silicate and Sodium Hydroxide, which are acidic, none of which are particularly paint, rubber or human friendly. It will stain / etch clear coat painted wheels and zinc rotors as well as drying out tyres

Never managed to have any luck with the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
