Any tips on cleaning the exterior of a boat? The hull is turning yellow because it's been in the water for so long, would a polish take this off? Such as M105 followed by M205 or do i need a strong aggressive cleaner? Any tips would help! thanks!

Normally people would use a compound followed by a polish followed by a wax or try a one-step cleaner/wax.

Most "marine" cleaner/waxes are stronger than auto cleaner/waxes and if the staining and oxidation isn't too bad they will do a good job in one step. Plus you can use a more aggressive pad.

The staining effect penetrates into the pores of the gel-coat and when this happens you'll usually have to use something aggressive to cut off enough of the stained and normally oxidized gel-coat to reveal a fresh, bright original looking layer.

This is an extreme makeover in every sense of the word... I used a lot of different product lines just to show different product lines but everything I used worked.

Here's a few suggestions on products that might help:

3M Marine Rubbing Compound
3M Marine Color/Gloss Restorer
Meguiars Marine/RV #91 Power Cut Compound
Meguiars Mirror Glaze #49 Oxidation Remover

You'll probably have to start with something pretty aggressive and come back with a milder polish to finish out. Good luck!

I just used collinite's cleaner wax on an LC orange pad and their wax on a red griot's pad and it came out great! I had very little oxidation though.
