Help with trim

I have a 2005 Mercedes c230 and the trim is made of a brass colored metal. It looks great wet, but when it dries it looks bad. Do any of you guys have any thoughts about how to make it look better. http://img.tapatalk.com/a693702b-376b-d19b.jpg

G'day mate. Do you have any close up pics? Mercs usually have black chrome type trim, kinda a little brownish. Hard to tell from that pic but have seen some VWs trims fade & get some serious water staining before. Have tried metal polish but most seem to be clear coated. Have you tried a lite compound by hand? Best to try somewhere discrete as may discolor. Hope this helps.
