Hey All,

I have those nasty black streaks on my gutters and now the HOA is busting my chops about them.

I've tried pressure washing, concrete cleaner, scrubbing... even aluminum wheel cleaner. Nothing seems to make a dent.

Has anyone found anything that works well? I'm either going to have to do this from a ladder, or from the roof on my belly and leaning over the edge... so ease of use would be a big plus.

Thanks,
B

I'd think some M105 would take that right off. Ideally you'd use an AIO so as to retard the re-staining. I have used my old waxes that I don't want to use on the car anymore on my aluminum cladding on windows and doors, and things like old Gold Class liquid seem to remove the black streaks, although probably not as easily as something with a bit more bite. I would think DG 501 would work well.

Stoner SpeedBead One-Step Quick Wax offers durable paint protection in a quick aerosol spray wax! water beading wax, stoner wax, car wax, clear coat (http://www.autogeek.net/stonspeedbea.html)

This should do the trick quicker and easier than anything else. Blackfire had a similar product that also worked really well for removing black streaks on the chalky white buses with black streaks coming off of the roof that I often have to clean up. The Blackfire aerosol cleaner wax doesn't seem to be in their current product offering.

I am going to be adding that to my next order.

Sounds like a real problem solver.

Last summer someone posted about a gutter cleaner that you can buy at Ace Hardware that you simply spray on and leave it. Over time it does the cleaning by itself. I tried to search for it and had no luck, hopefully they will chime in.

I used to be in the roofing, siding, decks, doors and windows business. Trust me when I tell you that Simple Green is all you need.

Zep purple work great too. I did my gutter a few weeks ago. Spray on, wait for 30 sec and hit it w/ power washer. Some stubborn spot needs some elbow grease though. Be care climbing up the roof, you don't wanna end up in Neuro ICU

Wonder how Simple Green would work in a foam cannon for cleaning gutters.

I have never had to use it, but I have been told by several friends that Simple Green will do the trick for you. 303 also has a cleaner that they say will work.

We always would spray the Simple Green, wait about 10 seconds and wipe with a terry cloth. Worked like a charm
