Seems that she would be a little more lenient considering that you are working out of town and staying at a motel. Gives you something constructive to do in your off hours.

Better to be on AGO, rather than hanging out at the bar/lounge or a honky tonk IMHO.:)

I totally get you...Taking your laptop means emails and texting (chat time with your wife)! I'll try and explain "a cat having a climbing gear"...Think that you are driving a manual shift and you are stuck in the mud. Would you put the transmission in fourth gear to try and get it Un-stuck??? A cat is being chased by a dog, it sees a tree nearby...does it use fourth gear to get up the tree???? No it uses it's first gear (climbing gear)!!! I hope that analogy helped.

My wife gets like that too. She talks smack when I even wash my car. It's like "You and this dam car". But when I shine hers up "Oh baby my car looks so good, thank you". I actually think she is jealous of my car. Once she was trying to help me and tried to use a regular towel out the house to dry it after I wash it. Even tried to lean on it while she was talking to me. Leaning is a no no for me also. Just let me have my relaxation.
