I get one day off from work and for the past few weeks it has been raining all day. Usually my only option is to wash the car after work if it's nice. But the problem is that paint is usually hot from sitting out in the sun all day. I'm wondering if you guys have an tricks to cooling the paint so that I can wash it and clean it up after work. Can I just rinse it for awhile? At what temperature is the paint safe to work on?

Spraying with cold water usually cools it.

If its small enough, you could buy a portable tent and let it sit with the engine off.

Cool to the touch.
