I have a 07 tundra and i always keep it clean but i have noticed that it is very cloudy and is starting to get some dirty water stains. If i use a cleaner wax it takes the dirty water spots out but its still very cloudy and there is no shine to it. I spoke to a bunch of different people and they said i shouldn't have it buffed but use a glaze instead? I want to see what I should use and whats a good product to use. By the way the truck is white.

Thanks in advance
Stephen

Welcome to Autogeek Online first off. A glaze will make the paint look for a couple of washes then will just wear off. You will need to properly compound and polish your paint.

:iagree:

Try some Meguiar's Ultimate Compound. You could probably even get decent results applying it by hand if you don't have a polisher. Hard to tell without seeing your paint's condition first.

Yea don't know who you talked to but they are tards. Proper paint correction is needed.

Ok so if i used compound then do i need a glaze after or just wax on top? I will try a panel and if it dosent work then i guess ill need to polish with a machine correct?

Skip the glaze. Follow the compound up with a polish then seal with a wax.

Sounds like oxidation, especially if it's single stage white paint. Do the test shown in this article,

How to Test for Single Stage or Clear Coat Paint (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/tricks-tips-techniques/34829-how-test-single-stage-clear-coat-paint.html)

Then, like said, compound, polish and wax. You need to cut the dead, oxidized paint off and get down to a fresh base.

Just to note, you can do this with a one/step cleaner/wax too but you need some with some bit to it and probably an aggressive pad on a machine or some ELBOW GREASE.

Check this out, see if it looks like what you're seeing...

The passenger side is still dull, lifeless and rough looking...
