Hi guys
I want to try the MF pads on my flex.
I have the stock backing plate only.

Are there some MF pads that I can use with this BP?
Or is it a "must" to get a new BP?

If so, what's the most cost effective approach?

Thanks!

I have no issue with the stock BP.

What size pads are you using?
It looks like 5.25" is largest available.

I am assuming you are talking about a 3401? The links to the pads I posted below will work just fine for you, no additional BP required.

Optimum Microfiber Cutting Pad, compounding pad, microfiber disc (http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-microfiber-cutting-pad-625.html)

Optimum Microfiber Polishing Pad 6.25 inches (http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-microfiber-polish-pad-625.html)

You can use them on the factory plate, but be sure to stay within our guidlines for speeds. Some have been melting the pads by using higher speeds than recommended. Our backing plates (rotary) are cushioned, transfer less heat to the pad, and have a bevel around the edge for easy removal. We don't have and option for the Flex D/A, but I use the factory plate without issue.
