Recently my father asked me If I would wash and wax his 2010 Lancer Ralliart Sportback. I agreed, saying I need the experience If I plan on detailing part time. I wish I had taken more pictures, but it was in the evening and I was trying to hurry so I could go to bed. So, here are some before pictures, (Keep in mind I used my Evo 3d phone to take the pictures).

It had lots of tar and bugs on it that I didn't get pictures of. I used Stoners Tarminator which removed about 90% of the bugs and tar. I then clayed the car using Meguiars smooth surface clay kit. I wasn't sure what to wax it with at first, but then decided to try the sample of Meguiars Cleaner Wax that comes with the Smooth Surface Clay Kit.
I decided to see if it would remove some of the light swirls and scratches that were on his car. I used my PC 7424XP and started with a white Lake Country CCS pad. I wasn't getting the light scratches out like I wanted to so I bumped it up to the orange CCS pad and spent more time going over it. I really wish I had pictures of it but there was an area on the drivers side fender where there was a decent amount light sratches. I pad a few passes putting a good amount of pressure on it and then I started easing up on the pressure and did some more passes and after I allowed it to haze I wiped it off and to my amazement most of the light scratches were gone!! Parts of the car I went over the second time. I then topped it with lucas oil slick mist, dressed the tires, polished the exhaust tips, used Megs Natural Shine one the trim, etc.
Anyways here are the after pictures!!

My phone didn't do it justice so sorry about that.
My dad was thoroughly impressed to say the least. He kept saying wow! and taking pictures with his phone. :props: He then left his car In the garage for nearly two weeks because he didn't want to drive it.:xyxthumbs:
Moral of the story is: Its easy to overlook older products like Megs Cleaner Wax, but it still produces good results. I was pleasently surprised to say the least.:dblthumb2:
Thanks for reading!!,
