Hi, I am wondering what should I do to preserve a shine of a tag plate. How are you guys taking care of tags?
From my experience, once a tag paint became dull it is very hard to bring back to shine.
I do not prefer a clear plastic cover because I do not think it gives a good look...

Wet sanding and heavy cut compound. Works like a charm.

Don't wanna sound like a complete dunce, but what is a tag plate?

License plate.

 Thanx!

Now that I know what we are talking about...I've found that good ol' cleaner/wax (pick ANY brand) does a pretty good job. I just take 'em off and do it on the work bench.

Just don't do too much 'rubbing'...the paint on most plates are thin in the the strictest manner.

Also, in some states, a plastic cover over the plates are/is a big no-no.

I typically use and APC. The paint is reflective, in most states, and I dont want to compromise that on a client's car by buffing it too much.

Thanks guys. I will use APC and test using a cleaner wax.:)
