Question for those more knowledgeable from a non pro.

My wifes 2011 Lexus is coming up on 1-year and i want to polish it and then coat it with OC but i'm not sure out of the polishes i have which would be best.
The color is Perl white, she has pretty good(not great) wash habits and being white it's hard to see the flaws. The paint looks great but i want to amp it up before the OC.
So what i have is the following(I don't think it needs a compound).
I will be using a GG 6

M-205
Optimum Polish 2
Optimum finish polish
Menz PO85rd
Pinnacl advance finish polish

I have 5.5" mostly LC pads,orange,white black,blue and red.

I would love to be able to do a 1-step but if need be you could probably talk me into 2

Thanks for all replies.

Ken

I will definitely make it as good as possibe before OC. But you ask for 1 step only with list of products youve given, My suggestion is optimum polish ii with white pad.

205 with a white pad should make it lsp ready. Be sure to do a ipa wipe down before applying OC.

Hey Ken,

You've got quite a few polishes to choose from and all are top shelf. The only way you'll know whether or not you'll need something more aggressive that what you already have is gaging your results.

Optimum Polish 2 is about the most aggressive you list as it will remove up to 1500 grit scratches. If you have an area that's particularly stubborn use this and an orange pad.

Meguiar's M205, Optimum Finish Polish, and Pinnacle's Advance Finish Polish will remove up to 2500 grit scratches. All work well with White foam pads.

Menzerna PO85RD is an amazing polish removing even the finest sanding grit scratches up to 3000. This works well with a gray foam pad and I've even used it with a blue and red pad.

For a 1-step with correction ability I like:

Klasse All-In-One Polish (http://www.autogeek.net/klasseallinone.html)
Duragloss Polish & Cleaner 101 (http://www.autogeek.net/duragloss-polish---cleaner.html)
Meguiar's Mirror Glaze #6 Cleaner/Wax (http://www.autogeek.net/meg6clean.html)
Duragloss Total Performance Polish (TPP) # 105 (http://www.autogeek.net/duragloss-total-performance-polish.html)
Meguiar's M20 Polymer Sealant (http://www.autogeek.net/meg20polseal.html)
Meguiar's ColorX (http://www.autogeek.net/g11816.html)
Meguiar's D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream (http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-paint-reconditioning-cream-d151.html)

Be sure to prime your pad properly for best results.

Thanks, that was my original thought until I saw the other polishes I have.
