I have a swirl finder light. What other tools do you recommend for inspecting the condition of the paint?

DelFesko makes a paint thickness guage (well two actually) with one for metal surfaces and other for plastic.

I use an old magnifying glass from an old projector for inspecting RIDS. I want to pick one of these up though:
