Survived ACL reconstruction yesterday. No driving until at least the 11th :(. Start pt Thursday (actually did some tonight with my wife as she is a pt). So far so good I am even walking with crutches on day 1. Won't be able to do any detailing for some time, luckily got my truck and camaro cleaned up before I went in

Good luck. Since your wife is a PT, I am sure that you know that the PT is critical for a successful recovery. Keep at it and you will be back to normal in a couple of months.

Went through this two months ago, had a tear in the meniscus. I wish you the best of luck, and don't forget to do the exercises!
On a side note, I find it kind of funny you detailed and then placed your cars in the garage for the time you were out, so when you could drive again, they were ready. I did that too!!

Good luck. I had my Right ACL replaced and meniscus clean out December 17, 2011. As of right now, i'm not 100% yet. I think i over did it at the beginning w/ all the PT and extra activities :)
Do the PT religiously but DO NOT over do it.
Be well

Just wondering what the doc used for the graft? Mine used my own patella tendon. That made recovery a bit longer as I was rehabbing two injuries. My surgery was 6 years ago yesterday. I am still not 100% but not far from it. The doc made my repair very tight (due to me being 40 at the time) so I cannot go past zero degrees bend. You will notice that a normal knee will go about 5 degrees past straight. hope you have a speedy recovery.

I have a cadaver graft. It actually has a serial number. Only info I know is it is from a teenager
They also cleaned behind my knee cap. I had some torn cartridge

Your recovery will definitely go easier than mine did. You have to push yourself to get your full range of motion as quickly as possible. You don't want a knee that only moves 75% that it should

Hope you get well soon. Glad you got the cars looking good. Don't let your injury make you have to use one of those automatic car swirl washes :) haha. But get well soon man

I would rather keep them dirty for a bit then go through a swirl machine

Well 4 days post op and I was outside cleaning bugs off the front of my moms hilander today since she came down to visit. Crutches are great for hanging spray bottles from :). Didn't do much but it felt great to be productive for 10 min

Ryan, I walk the walk when it comes to knee pain, and that is after having a partial replacement done! Good luck to you and your recovery!
