Opti-Seal on Headlites?

So after sanding and buffing a headlight, would it be OK to use OS as a UV protect?

Sure, but it's not going to give you very much protection, not any more than any other sealant. I would recommend using Opti-Coat, or the Spar Urethane that seems popular. You could also get some spray can 2K clear and use that.
