is this brush safe to use on clear coated wheels/rims?

Mothers Wheel Brush makes cleaning your wheels more comfortable with a rubberized grip. Clean your wheels with Mothers Car Care Products! (http://www.autogeek.net/mothers-wheel-brush.html)

Yes absolutely...I have the wheel kit from Mothers and I love it. The wheel brush you linked is really soft and works really well. When I do wheels, I use the Daytona Speed Master and the mothers wheel kit:

Noob,

Safe? Probably. I have an OXO brush that looks exactly the same and never had any scratching problems with it. OTOH...

The question to ask is, "Is it effective?". That depends on your wheels. For the wheels shown on the website, it probably works great. For wheels like mine (pic below), it won't work that well. There are too many nooks and crannies. I just got a set of Wheel Woolies: Wheel Woolies 3-Piece Kit, wheel cleaning tools, wheel brushes (http://www.autogeek.net/wheel-woolies.html). They work very well on my wheels. A review: Review: Cleaning Rims w/Wheel Woolies - Club Lexus Forums (http://www.clublexus.com/forums/automotive-care-and-detailing/600794-review-cleaning-rims-w-wheel-woolies.html).

Regards,

Dan.

I have 20's on my jeep,I was thinking of buying a brush, but I'm okay just with a sponge,my hands can fit inside the wheel and I can clean everywhere.I like my wheels.:dblthumb2:

Not to steal this thread, but while reading this thread, I was just thinking how funny that guys would use a wheel brush on their clear coated wheels (just like paint) , but would not dare use it on paint. I'm guilty as well.

I'm guilty, as charged, also.

But...I've been led to believe that the CC on wheels is another/different animal...And as such, they, on occasion, don't really seem to mind being 'brushed'...

Well. My wheels are silver. And we all know silver is good at hiding swirls.

I would be curious to take a close look and see if there is any swirling on them from only ever using brushes.

Has anyone tried the "woolie" brushes on your wheels? They are in the AG store as Wheel Woolies 3-Piece Kit, wheel cleaning tools, wheel brushes (http://www.autogeek.net/wheel-woolies.html)

See my post above. I just got them, but I immediately retired my old wheel brushes. They are excellent! Combined with my new Swissvax brush, they are far better than anything I've ever used.

Regards,

Dan.

Dan-o, oops! Thanks for redirecting me. Also, by searching for woolies in this forum, I found some good testimonies for woolies. Looks like another AG order is forming..;) (wife: :bat:)

I use the Mothers brush on wheel faces and use the woolies in the barrels.
