I am thinking about doing cquartz on my car but in reading on some other sites, I see the product referenced as aquartz. Is there any difference? Both seem to be a ceramic coating.

Not sure, but if you are consider Cquartz, you should consider OptiCoat. It is a better product.

I wouldn't call Opti-coat a "better" product. Opti-coat is a different product. I've used both several times and each one has it's pros and cons.

I've actually heard that aquartz used to be run by Avi from Carpro (makers of cquartz), but that something happened and they screwed him over or something like that and now they're just a cheap ripoff of everything that carpro makes.

Where did you hear this at, or from? Got proof? Did you possibly get this info bass-ackwards?
Which specific Country(ies) are AQuartz and CQuartz manufactured in? Which one(s) of these products are/are not 'water-based'? Contain: Titanium, Silica, or both?
Is Avi@CarPro still a distributor of/for AQuartz, or any of their products, anywhere in the whole-wide World...Or, even, was he ever?
Any differences between AQuartz's Reload and CQuartz's Reload?
Ever hear of slanderous (now, perhaps, also, libelous) litigation?

Just asking...Yes.
Just kidding...No.

I heard something similar on some other US forums.

I agree with this statement. As usual each product has it's pros and cons.

Mmm check out this thread:
Aquartz is now over at DetailersDomain - Page 2 - Live2Detail (http://www.live2detail.com/showthread.php?t=1698&page=2)

It doesn't have all the information that I claim (I can't seem to find ALL the links at the time, since most of the time I just stumbled on them while browsing), but avi does say this:
"i know exactly what is aquartz, i made this brand, tried to sell it for 1 year without success"
"about the aquartz , yes it was my brand, but that same Korean who sell now to DD just stole it from me and wrote trade mark on it...in Korea.
anyway, its history for me now..."
I'm not bashing aquartz or anything like that, just stating what I remember reading. Don't get me wrong, I was on the verge of buying their aquartz premium and aquartz titanium before too, but then I just decided to opt for opti-coat since it adds a few microns of thickness rather than forming a nano-coat (which is more ideal for a daily driver in my eyes for my car at least)
