Ok, so I hate walking around all day with wet shoes, so i went around looking for water proof socks........ well no luck. Since I live near Ft. Hood, if you know the area, you know you'll have to drive to Austin or order stuff on line go get anything you really want. Finally I stop at Academy looking for water proof shoes.... well no luck with my size, but they helped me out and showed me these. http://assets.academy.com/mgen/63/10170963.jpg?is=500,500

They are GREAT, they are mesh and have little holes on the side to allow for drainage, plus the insole is made of this mesh material, even if your feet get wet it dries out quite fast. Plus its almost like AC for your feet. Even better at $16 they are awesome. Thought I would let you guys know

As the link goes straight to a picture, what brand or model number are these? Would like to research them on their site. Thanks

I have these from Academy.
Academy - Brazos Men's Slip-On Service Boots (http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_10051_44196_-1?color=Black&N=610945392)

Slip right on and my socks never get wet! I take them off after I finish washing. Wear black socks or else it looks goofy. :xyxthumbs:

GG carries the "Oakley Car Washing Sandals" (http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/oakley+car+washing+sandals.do?sortby=ourPicks) for $40. Maybe AG should carry some car apparel, too?

I use a pair of Nike running shoes (I forget which ones specifically) but they are really nice. They have lots of padding on the bottom and flex easily when you bend down. They are also vented so they are nice and cool in the warmer weather.

My go to car washing shoe and detailing shoes are a pair of Crocs. Fashion wise, no go, but I am not looking to win the beauty pagent. They are extremely comfortable, waterproof and can stand on them for hours.

I have found these Adidas to be good, lower cost, and can be found at just about any store. Very lightweight, and breathe very very well.

Does the water drain through the bottom?

Does the water drain through the bottom?

Yes, in a sense. I have seen the water squirt out of the little holes you see on the side when I step. So technically it does drain. Due to the material being mesh all around, the air that circulates helps dry your socks and feet quite fast. The insole also has tons of little holes to allow for drainage.

I use what we call reef walkers as they're waterproof, light weight, drain water and dry fast a lot of fisherman use them on the rocks/reef.

Another great product i use is a rash guard (like a shirt) used for surfing,it's great for blocking the sun,it's also light and fast drying great for in the sun or rain.
