This is a friend of mine's car that I've been procrastinating doing...finally bit the bullet and tackled it.
03 Black Highlander
Products used
PC
SSR3 - Cutting pad
PO85RD - Polishing pad
4Star - UPP
Souveran Paste wax

Here are the befores:

Nothing was touching these so I decided to break out SSR3 and a cutting pad..finally getting somewhere, with very little hazing.
The thing to remember with SSR3 is DO NOT prime the pad with a QD or water. Priming the pad will lead to heavy hazing.

Here is the hazing left from SSR3 up close:

This was a 2 day process and here it is after UPP and Souveran paste wax:

Awesome work... since you just used SSR3 would you say it has more cut than Optimum Compound? I can't believe the turnaround on that for just using the PC. I did a car last week (1997 Avalon, posted on DC) which looked like that and I had a horrid time with the rotary and would have gone straight to the PC if I saw this before I did that car. Gotta love black shine!! UPP and Souveran = perfect

I used Lake Country Pads

Jen, thanks!

I used speed 6 with slow overlapping movements...Just make sure to change pads often, SSR3 will clog the pads and cause excessive marring.

First of all the before pictures are shocking, really bad swirls on that vehicle.

You sure turned that car around though, looks like new.

Good job...oh I really like the hazing picture, it totally shows the hazing.

You take really nice pictures, thanks for sharing.

I used a LC yellow pad...I did start out with SSR2.5/orange pad then moved to SSR3/orange pad, but got the best results with the cutting pad and SSR3
