So reading the back of the bottle it says you can use a rotary. Does this leave halograms?

That's right, you can use it with a rotary, the label doesn't say that it will leave a hologram free finish, just that it can be machine applied using a rotary.

I'll stick to what I wrote in this article about how some paints are more polishable than others...

Hologram Free with a Rotary Buffer (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/43684-hologram-free-rotary-buffer.html)

D151 is a medium cut cleaner/wax, it has ample bite to it for removing paint and thus removing defects.

I personally don't think you can leave a hologram free finish using this product on a clear coated black finish using only a rotary buffer and if you can't do it on black paint you're not doing it on any paint you just might not be able to see for sure depending upon the color of the paint and how you chemically strip and inspect the results in bright light.

I post this all the time but here goes again...

Look what line that product is in... it's in the Pro Detailer Line and the bulk of the demographic market that product is designed for is not the perfectionist detailer looking for a swirl free finish but the Production Detailing Industry.

See my article here,

The story of 3 H's - Horrendous, Horror Story and Hack Detailers... (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/ask-expert-featuring-mike-phillips/28142-story-3-h-s-horrendous-horror-story-hack-detailers.html)

You might be able to leave a hologram free finish on some black paint systems using a soft foam finishing pad, working absolutely 100% surgical clean, using a low RPM RB but the only way you would know would be to chemically strip the paint afterwards and then inspect under bright sunlight.
