This was my first attempt at a rest detail. The victim is my 1996 S-10 truck that I bought five days ago. Sorry for the cell phone photos, my dslr was charging.

The whole truck had these dull spots that looked like some kid went crazy with a spray can.

Now that she is all washed and dried the swirl hunt began. Didn't take long this truck had tons.

Amazing results!

Even though pictures are from your cell phone it's easy to see how horribly neglected and even abused the paint was before you restored it.

Excellent pictures showing,

Nice job! Makes me miss my little green S-10 from about that same year. It was a great little truck.

Thanks for all the comments. This was the longest time I have ever spent on a vehicle. Next task to tackle is the the orange peel issues on the side panels. The truck was repainted at some point. Hood and fenders are clear coat. The rest is single stage.

Great job on the truck for sure and I noticed the tires, haven't seen those in about 20 years, LOL!

You did great first time out. I know it seemed like a lot of work but the more proficient you get at it the less time it will take to a certain degree. Some thing you can't rush. But once you get a good system down it will move. Little more efficiently.

Looks Great. I love detailing older cars its like night and day. I sell cars i should take some pictures someday myself. I actually look for cars with bad paint.

Keep up the good work

Nice work! Just a little tip. After I wash my s10 I always open the 3rd door windows (the pop out ones) and then close them. Water likes to settle in their and always makes streaks down the door when you drive. (Like in the 2nd pic)
