got polish on rubber

Ok first time polishing and got some polish on rubber seams near sun roof. Is there a way to remove this?

Duragloss Wax Eraser (WE) #481 it does better than most products that I have tried.

It's usually not easy and almost impossible to remove 100% of the staining effect, that's why so many people take the time up-front to tape-off a car.


You can try a spray detailer and a microfiber, a spray detailer and a little Isopropyl Alcohol, a microfiber and an all purpose cleaner, heck you can even use a clean microfiber towel and a little water.

You can try a nylon brush like a tooth brush...

There are some products for removing polishes and waxes off of paint that you could also use with a microfiber towel


You can try washing the car and lightly scrubbing the stained trim with a wash mitt or microfiber towel.


It's a tough problem. Someone on the UK website Detailing World recently asked me why I like to work on classics and hotrods and part of my answer is because they have no rubber, vinyl or plastic trim.

Sometimes they have no trim at all... I still do things like cover the tires and the grill, especially if I'm using a rotary buffer.

I have had luck with Windex and a toothbrush. Then tape and re polish the area.
