After deciding to try my hand at a mobile detailing business I had my first client this past weekend. She had a 2010 Mazda 3 which had never really been waxed or cared for too often. There was NO wax on the car, which you will see in one of the pictures and the car had lots of swirls and water spots. It took me all day Saturday to detail the car and I only stopped for lunch.

Products used:

Optimum Shampoo
Mother's clay bar
Pinnacle XMT #4
Klasse AIO
Collinite #845
Blackfire Wheel cleaner
Zymol Leather Cleaner
Zymol Leather Conditioner
Blackfire Interior Cleaner
Meguiar's Interior protectant
Meguiar's Tire Shine

Here is the car after being washed

The wheels needed some attention

The Blackfire wheel cleaner did an excellent job. I used a wheel brush to scrub away all the dirt and brake dust

As you can see, no water beading what-so-ever

A good example of the swirls I was working with it, this is on the trunk.

Here is what the detailing clay looked like after only a couple passes on the hood.

Here is some etching I saw, look where the light is actually hitting the car

After working with the PC 7424XP and XMT #4 I was able to get it out

Some swirls on the door

More XMT #4 got them all out!

If you look right above the reflection of the car there was some light scratches

Some more light scratches on the bumper below the trunk lid

All clean and shined up. I applied the Klasse AIO after the XMT and put Collinite #845 on the entire car to ensure a strong wax that would hold up for a whole

As you can see, a wonderful shine and that wet look was restored

Like a mirror!!

The interior wasn't too bad, just needed a lot of dirt removal and protecting

The leather came out especially nice

The client was THRILLED. I received multiple text messages from her after she picked up, she told me everyone she showed the car to was blown away and I may have already received a referral from her!

Thank you. I'm not sure what was best, the look on her face when she saw the car or the accolades after?Im the MAN

Yeah, not bad at all. I was also impressed with their paint job. The car 21K miles on it and the front end still looked fantastic (in terms of chips and stuff). I also didn't find any noticeable imperfections in the paint. Wish I could say the same about my new Ford!

I thought it was pretty easy to use...went on and came out easily. Also made taking out swirls and water spots a breeze!

How was the Mazda paint to you soft/hard?

How was the Mazda paint to you soft/hard?

I thought it was on the softer end. Most of the paint was pretty workable and I didn't have a problem getting imperfections out.

Great work. It's nice to see peoples reactions when they see their car cleaner than it's ever been. I used to pay my detailer his price and tip him on top of that because I was so thrilled with his work. Well done, and you should surely have a repeat customer there.

Thanks for the heads up on this post Derek:xyxthumbs:

Wgilles, it looks like the XMT #4 does the trick for sure, did you have to use a lower speed or medium speed when using the XMT #4? Did the KAIO get applied by hand on the Mazda or did you use the wheel for that?
