I'm going to be buying some new MFs..what do you use? I would expect maybe you use the Cobra line, but which ones and for what purposes?

claying?
polishing?
wax removal?
interior cleaning?

Claying, polish removal, wax removal I use CG towels. Interiors I use the cheaper ones. They get dirty quick.

there is a ceiling effect to microfiber towels, this is when the towel price goes way up and the quality goes the same, for a pro/hobbyist detailer as my self cobra's are way too expensive for what they are, so i do not buy them because i can find the same towels for 1/2 to 3/4's of the price they sell towels here for...and by same towels i mean exact same, weave type, weight, color, edges.. now thats out of the way....
for interiors i use some cheap biglots towels they cost around 5$ for 10, then for exteriors i have some for wheels and rims(usually my tatty towels that are not paint safe or wont use em on the interior) but also depends what im doing to the wheel, if its cleaning tatty towel for sure, removing sealant/wax or polish from a wheel i will use a paint safe towel. for paint itself i use dual napped microfibers, one side is fluffy nap, other side is small pile nap. those i use for removing wax/polish final wipe, quick detailing, stuff like that, then i have a few other towels that i will only use on clean paint to apply spray wax or something like that.
a good place for good priced and high quality towels is microfiber tech, cg has good prices and towels but their website sucks, looks like someone who was on an abundance of amphetamines made it because stuff is everywhere, too many category's, its honestly the worst web page for any kind of purchases i have ever seen so until another company gets CG towels i wont buy them...AG has good deals on certain towels however, just need to find the deals or wait for bogo's...i honestly don't see why some people charge 8$ for a 16x16 towel when there buying thousands of them at 25 cents or less each(i found the actual manufacturer of cobra towels) need to buy 8,000 of them and can get em at 25 cents each....then again most of the high quality towels sold on detailing sites are only made by like 3 different manufacturers. .but that's just my 2cents on microfibers, and luckily my father inlaw works at a huge linen washing facility so once in a while i will get a 20gal garbage bag half full of microfibers for free....

I just bought a 350 and 660 pack.

I can't wait to use these, I will use the Garry Dean method with ONR.

How do the 300s compare to the mf they usually put on bogo?

Sorry I missed this, looks like it dates back to April of this year... cant get em all...

I use a variety of towels for different purposes but the most important thing is to ensure the towel is clean when you visually inspect it and when you fell it by drawing your hand across it.

Besides that, always fold the towel 4-ways like I show in this article,

How to correctly fold and use a Microfiber Towel (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles/29230-how-correctly-fold-use-microfiber-towel.html)

Folding your microfiber towel provides cushion to spread out the pressure of your hand plus gives you 8 dedicated sides to wipe with.

Not folding means less cushion and only two sides to wipe with...

And I tend to reserve my cleanest, most plush towels for removing the LSP's and the Final Wipe

Towels are addictive. I have way more than I could ever use. Buy high quality ones when they are BOGO here. That's the secret to having nice towels. Buy 2, you'll get 4. Next time get 2 more. Before you know it you'll have plenty of nice towels.

BINGO! When they are BOGO, like the current 530's for instance, then sure the price doesn't hurt so bad.

Alibaba (if thats spelled correctly) I've seen has billions of asian factories listed that'll sell to ya', but who in the world wants to order 5000 MF towels? :dunno: I mean sure, if you had a website to sell them, or some sort of crazy 'group buy' but that still takes some serious time/energy/cash to not only get samples to make sure you know what you're getting, but you are putting a lot in till you find a home for all those darned things.

Easier me thinks to just bribe Meghan n Nick for sales & BOGO's. Im the MAN
