So I am getting ready to bring back the paint on an 84 VW Vanagon. So, I assume this thing does not have clearcoat on it and I am wondering if my current product lineup will be fine. I have all Wolfgang Concours Series products. I have total swirl remover, Polish Enhancer, Finishing Glaze, Fuzion Carnuba Polymer Estate Wax, a Flex 3401 with assorted pads and a bunch of Wolfgang interior stuff.

Anything I need to know about working on a car without clearcoat?

Thanks for your help guys.

If it's single-stage paint, you'll be cleaning pads a lot, perhaps once or twice per panel. They'll quickly become black with oxidized paint that's coming off the van, and the cut will be greatly reduced until cleaned.

Otherwise you've got some great products. Take lots of before and after photos. You'll be amazed at the transformation.

Hmmm. Well I have done two clear coat cars, but never a non-clear coat. So does this mean I need a pad cleaner? Kind of sounds like it.

But product wised I am good? I dont need anything different then what I have for my clear coat cars?
