Iron X what is it?!?!?! (Newbie Question)

I know this a newbie question but I am always looking for ways to improve my skills an protection on my car. I have seen pictures of people using it on brand new vehicles an the pics showing all kinds of stuff coming off the paint. If I can figure out what it does exactly an how to use it I will deff be picking some up if I think it will benefit my car....

It removes iron contaminates from paint and wheels.
I used it to remove rail dust from one of my vehicles.

Yes - it really does work.

it dissolves iron (there are many sources but your brakes are one of them) which gets embedded in the paint (depends on how soft your paint is imo) and eventually starts to rust.

You can clay the rust spots which shaves the iron off so it is level with the paint or you can dissolve it which is where IX comes into play. Using IX before you clay leaves only organic contaminants for the clay to deal with, meaning your clay will last longer and mar the paint less (since it doesn't have bits of shaved off iron in it).

check out this simple test showing how much iron is left on a white car even after claying makes the paint smooth again.

If you are going to be using the Iron X on the paint stick with the spray version. I have the Gel version and it doesn't work as good in my experience so far. I find it great on wheels though. Could just be my paint though.

I've always wondered how you apply the gel version to your paint.

Do you put it on a sponge then rub it around?

It is stronger than the spray so maybe you can do it after washing so the residual water will help it spread easier and the dilution effect will be less if you used the spray.

It is suppose to be more concentrated than the spray. I tried using a foam applicator with a wet surface to make it easier to spread around as you mentioned and after wiping the product on my paint the applicator started turning purple. It was weird for sure. The paint seemed to have very little iron particles. So far I love using it on wheels though.

ok so I will definitely be picking up the spray version of the iron x along with some Dodo Juice Light Fantastic (heard its awesome for metallics!).

I ordered the spray and gel as well.

I found the gel to not work as well as the spray.
My initial thought concerning the gel is I did not let it sit long enough for it to work; however, the spray began working immediately.

I plan on sticking with the spray.
