I'm very new to the game so please be easy, but I'm looking for an all-around good polish that I can use to remove mild swirls before wax. From my research, it appears that the best two that I can find (on a limited budget) are Optimum New Formula (Optimum Polish is a swirl remover, finishing polish & paint cleaner in one for the optimum shine! swirl remover polish, fine grade polish, final (http://www.autogeek.net/opt400.html)) and DP Mild Swirl Remover (http://www.autogeek.net/dp545.html) (http://www.autogeek.net/dp545.html). I can't find any posts about the DP Mild and no comparisons of the two. Anybody try one (or both) and care to share his/her thoughts? I'm not a professional detailer will just be using to detail family/friends cars....Thanks all, learning alot....

OP is a bit more aggressive than DP Mild. I have DP's Mild, Super, and Finishing Glaze.

I would recommend either. Depends on how bad the swirls are. For the price, DP's is worth it. I would use it once a month or so to remove swirls. Then again, I'm a detailing nut. Who knows...

Haven't used DP but I love the Optimum Line. I have the old stuff as well, the new stuff is even better. New OP is along the lines of old OC, new OC is along the lines of old OHC, and new OHC is mucho strongo. Though even with the new stuff being more agressive, they still have that long work time and nice finishing down qualities the originals did. Even OC on a cutting pad when worked correctly can finish down lsp ready.

I'm fairly new to the game too Jenn. I've used them both. I liked the OP better and had better results. This may sound goofey but when I used the DP Mild Swirl it threw these little minature "BB" type balls (now all that being said it probably wasn't the polish but me).
