Finally some foam pads in 3". If I'm using a 5.5" pad with my DA, I can use them most of the time where I would use 4" pads. 4" pads are a bit too big for their own good, IMO. With 3" pads, I can really make use of them on smaller areas. Good job LC!

But the 7/8" design would work better on the Griot's 3" D/A vs. the 1.25"

Surgical Buffing (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/47254-surgical-buffing.html)
Working on thin panels or intricate areas is what I call surgical buffing. In order to do surgical buffing you need the right tools.
We have these new 3" pads and together with a 3" backing plate and an adapter for using double side pads but I use them as an extension.

I still think a DA can spin these 3" pads, no problem. 7/8" would obviously be golden.
