After alot of reading in these forums I have read how sealants last longer then Carnauba waxes like Super DoubleCoat Auto Wax #476 by Collinite. My thinking is what if I apply Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze that they state lasts up to 12 months of protection then apply a wax to produce shine and extra protection? What do you think?

Topping with wax will give you a little more protection but I topcoat sealants for added depth rather than protection. Many times I'll let the sealant cure 12 or more hours then apply an additional cost of sealant.

Ultima Paint Guard Plus is one of these sealants that can be layered after one hour of application. A nice feature of Ultima Paint Guard Plus is it's clear, lays down clear, dries clear, and requires little to no buffing....

Is this for your car?

do you really need the durability? Most people here strip off their lsp and put on something new at least every month...

I'd only put KSG on my car for the winter. Summer months are for playing with different combos...

Well yes and no for my car and my wifes truck I would love a great wax with that "wet gloss" look and durability. For others who cars I detail durability isn't the main objective but a great wet gloss shine. I notice alot of manufacturers advertise best wet look, high gloss shine but what is the truth. I don't feel like dropping money on all of these claims to be disappointed. Durability usually carnauba wax lasts 4-6 months which I am fine with. Thanks

What do you strip off your LSP with?

I've been using Klasse products since 2005 and I really like them (both Klasse All in One as well as sealant glaze). When I first got them I read that if you wanna have even better results with SG that you wanna apply that 2nd coat of SG 12 hrs later, ofcoarse you'd wanna wipe down your car first with your favorite QD. The very first time I did this to the car I had at the time (2005 Crossfire Limited-Aero Blue) it really popped and since then, I was sold on the products, even chose their name for my screen name everywhere I visit too!

Little tip, dunk your applicator into a bowl of water and wring out pretty good and get yourself a little squirt bottle to apply the product into the pad. You literally want the product to squirt onto the pad and honestly, about 3-4 quirts is enough to do an entire panel. Once you apply it, just wipe it off right away and move onto the next section, easy. That 2nd coat is the key IMO for longer durability too, good luck to you!!

Dawn dishwash strips very well for me - a heavy dose in a bucket (like 3 oz) and the wax is gone...after a bit of a soak...

Do you mean? Wolfgang Fuzion Estate Car Wax contains real carnauba wax and paint sealant polymers to protect paint. ultimate show car wax, auto wax, paste wax, (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-fuzion-carnauba-polymer-car-wax.html) That is expensive

I usually do not top sealants with a wax.

But, if you desire to do so, try either of the P21S waxes...
Or for similar results (and being more economical) try the S100
wax.

P21s Wax, P21s concours carnauba wax, p21s carnauba wax, carnauba wax, car wax (http://www.autogeek.net/p2concarwax.html)
P21S 100% Carnauba Wax is P21S's first car wax made with pure carnauba wax, no other waxes. P21S pure carnauba car wax, P21s car wax, P21S carnuba (http://www.autogeek.net/p21s-100--carnauba-wax.html)
S100 Carnauba Wax is a hand-poured blend of German waxes, proprietary ingredients and pure Brazilian Carnauba wax. motorcycle wax, bike wax, s100 (http://www.autogeek.net/s1capawax.html)

3M Imperial Show Car Wax is nice also---paste or liquid.

3M Perfect It Show Car Paste Wax, 3m 39526, creates an ultra high gloss finish, with long-lasting protection! (http://www.autogeek.net/3mpershowcar.html)

Or why not just enjoy the characteristics of KHGS and drive your ride around for awhile without the "stickiness" characteristics of carnuba waxes. That is, and unless, your going to a nearby Car Show.

just top the KSG with collie 845 and forget about it for 6 months if durability and looks are what you are after... you can prob go longer if you use OCW as a booster occasionally...

I agree with topping Klasse SG with 845. I just did this to my black ford fusion for the first time, and my jaw dropped. I think for winter i'll be trying klasse + colli 915

yea 915 seems better 1. No.476s – most durable protection/weather defense. Most elbow grease required during application.
2. No. 915- 2nd most durable and slightly easier than the 476s to apply/remove. No. 915 lends our warmest shine to dark tones like navy and black due to its highest concentration of rare carnauba.
3. No. 845- easiest of the 3 to apply/remove with slightly less durability than the No. 915.

DO you have a photo of the car after waxing? tx
