Hi Everyone,
Hope this is the right place to post this -
This past Christmas, I had to request a $100 gift for a non-so-secret santa, so I asked for a Porter Cable polisher. I ended up with the 7346SP, which I guess is the same as the 7424XP, except for a 6" counterweight?
I've become thoroughly confused as to what size pads I need (6.5 inches is too big?), what size backing plate (5 inch plates work for both 5.5 and 6.5 pads?) , what kind of pads (flat, css, low profile?), what products (compound, wax polish?, etc etc.
I'm primarily a Meguiar's brand ##### when it comes to hand washing/waxing, but would be open to suggestions to other products.
We have two new 2012 cars, so I wouldn't need to do any major refinishing, but I would be looking to keep the cars in good shape.
I would thoroughly appreciate if someone could recommend a solid basic set to get me started.
