I was going to wait until everything was done, but since Alex just has to see the pics.

So our landlord told us a few weeks ago that he was going to do new siding and windows on our house. Since he was going to do siding, he decided it would be a good time to enclose our carport! SCORE! This means a new 8x22' storage area for me.

This is what things looked like when I left for work Tuesday morning (excuse the mess, it was cleaned up, that was during clean out over the weekend, and I had no where else to put stuff).

The lawn shed in the background will become storage for the kids toys..

This is what I came home to Tuesday night.

There will be a 6' roll up door installed tomorrow.

Right now plans are to put a work bench type area along the back wall, some shelving for the splitter for my car. Move the lawn equipment in.

Not sure what all from the garage I'm going to move yet, probably my snow tires\wheels, possibly my detailing supplies and tools. Haven't really made any final decisions yet. The 5 yr olds F-150 (power wheels) will be stored up here also for charging reasons (that's what is in that white box you see in the carport).

Hopefully I'll have some more pics for everyone after this weekend after I get stuff moved around.

Couple quick update pics.

Door is almost installed (getting it in proper position here)

Put up the very simple workbench area in the back and starting to move some stuff in.

So far I've got the mower, snowblower generator etc moved in, hoping to have some shelving and lighting up by the end of the weekend. Still deciding for sure if I want to do 2 or 3 lights in there.

Still have 3 windows (picture and two bedrooms) to be installed. All but 3 windows need to be trimmed out, back storm door to install. Rest of the siding on the house to be installed and the entire garage to be stripped and sided. Oh and new gutters to be installed.

So everything is pretty much done, they just have to put up the back gutter and get the shutters back on.

I'm hoping to finish up the new shed space this weekend. Finish putting up shelving etc. I'll get you guys some pics of that as well.

Yeah him and his wife are wonderful. He only has 2 houses he rents. This one, which was his grandma's that he bought his dad and uncle, and decided to rent just to cover the mortgage + a bit to help his dad out. Then when his dad was no longer to live on his own, he bought his place (across the street) and rented it out too.

We actually consider the landlord and his wife more of friends than anything else, and they feel the same way. Their even taking us out on their boat this year sometime.

Here it is, think I've got everything in and pretty much where I want it, have to button up a couple things.

My gallons and extra products. Thanks to AG I had to add an extra support to that shelf!

Always a pleasure to see a landlord that actually cares about his/her property. I'd say you scored with the extra enclosure, looks great.

Brings back memories, I did siding for 6 months out at Disney for a contractor a couple of years back. We also re-decked the dock around the New Orleans restaurant in Disney... they 'strictly' enforced we had to perform all dock work from 11pm -6am... sure don't miss those days -or- nights rather!

There's something missing:

AN IRISH BLESSING:

Bless this house (and garage) o Lord we pray.
Make it safe by night and day.
Bless the walls so firm and stout,
Keeping want and trouble out.
Bless the roof and chimney tall,
Let Thy peace lie over all.

While I can dig your 'Irish Blessing'...

For the love of God, I have yet to decifer the meaning behind your use of the word; 'hand' refering to the OP in many of your responses... it's driving me nuts! :dunno:

Awesome! Wish my landlord would give a lick about his property. I put more time/money in it than he has.

Unfortunately there are to many like that out there. His philosophy is "If I wouldn't want to live there, why should you".
