would isopropyl alcohol cut 4:1 (25% alcohol) with distilled water be a good pre wax cleaner or even in between polishing steps?

not really. Doesn't have enough lubrication to prevent marring imo

If you really have a lot of compounding dust, it's best to just wash the car or do a rinseless/waterless...

:iagree:

Griot's also makes a Pre Wax Cleaner product which is well priced.

im new to the rinseless car wash, is there any that are better than others? or a different mix of isopropyl alcohol and water?

Optimum, DP, Blackfire, Ultima, Duragloss, and Chemical Guys all make quality rinseless washes. You will want to look at how much product is used in a wash and how much it costs per wash.

CarPro Eraser and Menzerna Top Inspection are two other pre wax cleaners.

What about cg citrus wash and gloss with 1 oz per gallon? According to the label it strips off all the wax and sealants at that ratio.

Not in a traditional sense. If you are looking to remove light oxidation and embedded dirt in the paint you need some light cleaning ability that doesn't have the risks IPA has in the same process step. IPA flashes fast and has no lubricants to speak of.

If the polish you are using leaves a lot of polishing oils and you do not want those oils to mix with your next product, then this would be a good step (consider a 10:1 solution instead).
