I'm starting my search for a new garage vacuum. I'd like to find something with a small footprint & quiet.

Comments?

Well, I see it's your first post. so let's start with:welcome:

I actually have 2 vacuums in my garage. 1 is an outlet for the central vac in the house and the other is this one:
Garage Utility Vac - Griot's Garage (http://www.griotsgarage.com/product/garage+utility+vacuum.do?sortby=ourPicks)

The central vac is great for light touch ups as it doesn't have the power of the wall mount.

I was looking at that vacuum. I'm kind of digging the wall mounted units that I've seen.

Awe man i really miss my central vac at my old house. It was located in the garage an other than being very loud the thing was a beast. Have never found anything with that much power. I have a rigid wall mount thats ok not the best but gets the job done.

Not quiet and has a large foot print but it works like nothing I'd ever had before. Craigslist $100

Go with the Hoover guv .you can find it much cheaper than griots.i have had mine since they first came out after my metro wore out. Tons of power, long hose ,however does not do wet!
Mine gets used 7 days a week, for the last several years and no problems.

This is the one I got from Amazon, I looked at the Hoover and Bissell but ended up with this one. I can't remember why, I will snap a few pics of the actual unit.

I have an older WAP/ Alto SQ 10. It has been great. We Have an even older on at our shop (20yrs) and its still running great. This is the newer model

Attix 30 Vacuums (http://www.ultimategarage.com/attix8.html)

I little pricy but well worth it I think. I have used mine for wet and dry, even hook it up to my sander and it performs great. Easy to clean filter that is water proof and will last forever.
