So I knew when I put this product on my chrome wheels it was going to be a bad experience. The product goes on and looks a lot like hair spray. I prepped the wheel first polishing with Meg's all wheel polish.

Anyways I put it on a week ago. Today I washed my car, used sonax full effect on the tires. After getting the car done I noticed the wheels looking like complete ****.

I break out the Megs all wheel cleaner that comes with the yellow dynocone kit. There is like this clear grime stuck on the wheels. Again much like hair spray when it dries. I was able to get this off one wheels but it's taking a lot of elbow grease.

Ive tried rubbing alcohol too, that just made it really cloud up. I'm going to tackle it all tomorrow. Any other tips

I will NOT be using the brake dust barrier again. Will stick with the armor all product or rejex.

Megs you need to relook this product. May not be noticeable on painted wheels but on chrome it's horrible.

And another, where I was able to et most of it off, but missed around the stem. Again this is like clear glue stuck on there.

the same thing happened to me with the armor all version. I really wanted to like it, but it seemed to be a sticky mess.

What's wrong with just using a metal wax or ypaint wax?

what are you guys talking about? armor all is awesome. i love their line. especially the wipes and the compound. not as good as a 3m compound on the wool pads, but still does a decent job imo.

Chrome wheels.

OptiCoat
Cquartz
or ShineSeal, the new version of ZoopSeal.

Those look like the same knock off Cobra wheels that I have, imported from China by AFS.
Mine are 8 years old now and still look like new.

Sorry to hear that you found a product that isn't all it's cracked up to be.

These are the c6 corvette wheels factory not repo. Regardless the armor all brake dust block doesn't go on like hair spray or dry like a hair spray. It's better IMO.

Don't know why anyone would use a five dollar piece of crap wheel cleaner on chrome to begin with. Chrome is very sensitive. Use the right stuff and don't blame megs for your mistake. Lol

What are you talking about? RIF... No 5 dollar wheel cleaner touched my wheels. Meguiars new dust block product is what caused this.

Chrome is very sensitive.

Actually, chrome is very touch and resistant to corrosion as long you keep it clean. If you let road grime and brake dust build up on a wheel, for example in any seam or intricate area the accumulation of road grime and brake dust will hold in moisture and the three of these thing working together can cause the chrome coating to fail. But if you keep chrome clean it will last a long time.

I've been in dozens of wrecking yards in my life including a number of antique car wrecking yards and seen very old cars with chrome still in good condition.

If keep clean, chrome wheels will last a long time, if not kept clean then the chrome coating will fail but that's not the fault of the chrome coating.
