The weather has just started getting nice, and sure enough, the birds hit my car this morning. After work I soaked the spots good before trying to wash them down. I just used ONR. I used the slightest of motion to remove the big stuff. Then after the big stuff had washed away. I did a second cleaning with the ONR.

I noticed a stain or etching has already set in. I used some Megs cleaner wax on the spots but no good. I still got the spots. I can even feel them. So whats the fix? It's too late tonight to go after them again. Do I just need a stronger detergent? What's the best fix on this? I'm sure I'll get hit a 100 more times, so what's the best way to remove a hit until the poo can dealt with better?

Thanks

Try using a vinegar soaked rag. Let it sit on the spot for several minutes, then rinse off.

Well, obviously you want to remove them as soon as possible, as bird doo does contain uric acid. Do you have a quality wax or sealant on your car? Bird doo will still eat right through it, but having a good layer of protection on your paint will help in slowing down the effects. Check out these articles on bird droppings:

If you have etch marks, might I suggest Meguiar's Ultimate Compound? It is readily available at Wal-Mart or any auto parts store for less than $10, and unless you have soft paint or are overly aggressive with it, in my experience, usually finishes out without creating hazing.
