Hi all,
Well I am new to this site and just ordered a bunch of stuff a couple weeks back and I am completely addicted now, but I have a lot of questions so I figured I would consolidate in one thread, hopefully that is ok.
First of all I have a 2011 Kona Blue Mustang GT and the color is amazing and I am trying to find the right products to give it that unbelievable look. This is my first new car that has ever seen a garage so I am anal about keeping it looking top notch.
My current lists of products I have in my “detailer corner” are as follows
Wash products
· Two 5 gallon buckets with grit guards
· Meguiar’s Microfiber Wash Mitt
· Some off brand wash mitt for tires
· Blackfire Foam Master
· Dodo Juice Supernatural Shampoo
· Meguiar’s Gold Class Shampoo
Drying products
· Meguiar’s Water Magnet Microfiber Towel
Prep and Polishing Products
· Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze Mild Detailing Clay
· Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound (If needed)
· Meguiar’s SwirlX (if needed)
· Meguiar’s Deep Crystal System Polish
· Meguiar’s Ultimate Polish
Sealant and Wax Products
· Meguiar’s #7 Show Car Glaze
· Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint Sealant (Love this!!)
· Blackfire Midnight Sun Ivory Carnauba Paste Wax
· Meguiar’s Gold Class Liquid Carnauba Wax
· Meguiar’s NXT Wax
· Meguiar’s DA Polisher
· Assortment of Meguiar’s DA Foam Pads
· Lake County Yellow Jewelling Foam Pad
· Meguiar’s Supreme Shine Microfiber Towels
Assorted Products
· Meguiar’s Endurance Tire Shine
· DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator
· Leatherique

My big question is looking at this list what would you all recommend I change or try differently; the order of the products is also pretty much my detailing routine.

I am looking for that uber deep wet glossy shine.

Is it worth switching from the Meguiar’s Water Magnet and Microfiber products to something like the Cobra Guzzler and the Cobra Supreme Microfiber Towels?

Is there something you would use instead of the Blackfire Sealants and Wax?

The Meguiar’s Polishes I have listed I do not like, what would be a good Polish to use?

As for washing I use the Dodo Juice Supernatural in my wash bucket and use the Meguiar’s Gold class in the Foam Gun, what would be a better choice for the Foam Gun, something that really foams up?

DA Polisher pads, I look at the list of pads and am completely lost. I like the Lake County Jewelling Pad I got for my final product application. What foam pads do you like for swirl removal, polishing, sealant/waxing? I plan on using a microfiber bonnet for final buff.

What do you guys think of Aquapel vs. RainX?

I need to work on my foam pads, MF towels cleaning routine. I have been soaking everything with the DP Pad Rejuvenator for at least an hour and then I dump then whole thing in the washing machine and then add liquid laundry detergent and then dry on medium heat. Unfortunately I am getting fuzzies all over my MF towels and I probably shouldn’t wash any terry cloth products or wash mitts with the pads and MF towels. What do you guys do for cleaning your towels and such?

Oh my, how do you remove lint and fine dust after one drive after a fresh detail? I got home the other day after spending 7 hours on the car and pull in the garage on it is covered in a fine layer of dust, almost like it was a magnet for it. What’s a good way to remove it without marring or swirling the fresh detail?

What do you guys use to bring back that like new black look on rocker panel trim and such?

What products do you like for interior detailing? I use Leatherique on my leather interior, but pretty much use Armor All or whatever I have lying around to dust the interior with, any recommendations?

Sorry for the insanely long post and questions. I figured this might be better than posting 10 different threads or maybe I was wrong J Anyways thanks for any info

Thanks,
Chris

Actually, you'll get better and more answers by posting more threads then piling everything into one thread for a number of reasons that I outline in the below first article...

Gloss comes from smoothness, your goal is to make the paint as smooth as possible.

Depth comes from clarity, you want to remove as many swirls and scratches as possible and polish the paint till the top layer of clear paint is a smooth and clear as possible.

Sounds good, I will slowly break out my questions into to separate threads.

Thanks
