I had an earlier thread going, but I wanted to start a fresh one. Sorry. :D Do you use 5.5" or 6.5" foam pads? Can the PE handle 6.5" pads, no problem?

Either is no prob. Let the car decide what to use. ;)

I use 6.5 inch pads with no problems.

I personally prefer 5 1/2 inch pads but it has plenty of power to handle the 6 1/2. I just find the smaller pads easier to maneuver.

Awesome! Thanks guys. I haven't tried 6.5" yet, but I wanted to make sure it has the "balls" to handle them! :D

I use up to an 8 in pad/wool. I also use 6in B&S with flex BP and feel that works the best. No problems in power at all. Its so quiet that sometimes you feel like its not working or turning fast enough lol

I've read on MOL that smaller pads are (obviously) easier to control, so when I start doing my rotary I'll use 5.5" for the above reason.

I use both 5.5 & 6.5 on almost every polish job, there is plenty of power for the larger pads.

I've noticed that I can slow the pad down much easier(with pressure) with the PE14 compared to the 3401. Why is that? They're both forced rotation, right?

But do you have the "balls" to handle them?

That's what the warranty is for.

I highly doubt there's anything wrong with mine.

Hmmm, that's odd. For what it's worth, I don't really push down on the rotary at all. Only enough to keep it from wanting to hop and to maintain control. I've also read that you're supposed to let the machine do the work (by not adding weight to it).
