Chalky white corolla??

I have a buddy that owns an older white corolla that is very dull on the roof and some of the hood and has tons of scratches, since it has never been detailed and hasnt been washed to often either. My question is what pad and product would work best to bring this car back to "new" look. Ive been looking threw some other threads and havent really found an exact answer. Im sure thats because there isnt just one way to do it but was curious on everyones input of what they think will be the best as well as the easiest way to bring dull paint back. I saw Mike has a thread n here that he talks about using meguiars #7 but since i dont have any was wondering if there are other polishes or compounds that would work just as well. I have m105 m205,p085rd wg swirl remover and some other popular products. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!

Reminds me of one of my first details I did after getting my first real polisher. Before this Camry I knew nothing of polishers and the type of detailing that goes on on these forums. Up until then it was the old tubs of the red Turtle wax paste rubbing compound and polishing compound by hand. I knew absolutely nothing when I did this Camry but it turned out really nice. You have to read this article that Mike wrote about single stage paint. And after reading it I PM'd Mike to ask if this technique will work with modern single stage paint. And the answer was yes.

good luck and you should wow your customer what i do is tape off half the hood then save the other half for last so if the customer comes out they can really be thrown back! i would do a test spot but im betting 105/205 combo will work fantastic you should not need any more polishing other then 205. 105 on this paint leaves very little haze/marring its almost so little you can go straight to LSP for a product one step straight to lsp on these i like ultimate compound as seen in the thread i posted..
