Is Aquawax a pure sealant? I'm wondering about the compatibility of it with being layered over a layer of carnauba wax.

Im not sure if its a pure sealent. i dont think so but i cant verify thay.

I have however used it over a few waxes (zymol carbon, vw concours, and a few others) and have no bondinig problems.. i dont know if this is commnon but give it a shot

I will let you know that it has a relatively low durability ... shine, and slickness seem to be gone at first wash. Duragloss soap helps but probably adding back some similar polymers.

Our Lincoln beaded for about 2 months with a single layer and slickness was good till later in the 2nd month.

I agree with Surfer. I top my car with AW to pop the shine just a touch more. The slickness lasts longer then any other QD/Spraywax that I have ever used. I get atleast 3-4 washes before the slickness goes away. Plus the beading is crazy. I love AW.

Again, I agree with the AW lasting a decent amount of time. IDK Scott, I know you aren't that big of a fan of AW, or spray waxes in general for that matter (durability wise I mean). I know you really like DG's #921? Do you experience any longer durabilty with this over AW?

I've never experienced any bonding issues with AW either, over a pure wax or sealant.

I got 6-8 weeks with AW just on polished paint with no other product used..Will say slickness falls at about 5-6 weeks, but beading is still tight at 8 weeks...I used it over Menerna PO85RD as a test on my son's car when I first was trying the DG line...washed 4 or 5 times in that time period and used Griot's soap...

921 is a great QD..it cleans real good..does nice on water spots also..but the protection is about 3 weeks..but not bad for a QD...

Haha. I was never a believer in spray waxes either, but from yours, as well as others' review, I might have to try this stuff.

I also get great results and good longevity with AW.

It's not something I ever use by itself. I feel much better using a paste wax or seant. With that said, I use AW every couple weeks as a topper. Not sure how much I'll be using it now, I just got 64oz. of Pinnacle CM. I'm sure I'll still use AW about 1 a month.

what's AW?

Duragloss Aquawax. It's a spray wax that's commonly used as a topper/booster.
