While the wheels are new I thought I'd get a coat of sealant on them.

So I cleaned with alcohol (20%) and then spritzed the wheel with Ultima Paint Guard and worked it in with the small 3 finger mitts sold here. They really "froth" up the sealant and get it into all the nooks and crannies. The dry backside of mitt was used to level it, and finally a single light MF pass to level again. Again, no buffing. walk away. This is easy!

Work in the sealant and let dry

The gloss is stunning. More pics as we see how it holds up.

Looks good.

I'm curious to see how long it lasts.

Nice work! It is a sooooo easy to use and nothing gives more gloss. Add another coat and be sure your sitting down when you come check it a few hours later! Woot!

It sounds like you used more than you needed but if it works for you props!

2nd coat just went on...and yes, I'm an ultima user on a lot of stuff and knew it was going on thick, I wanted it deep in the corners so I opted to go on thick and the level with the applicator - it worked perfectly...

I use Opti-seal (same design) on my Iforged Wheels and cannot be happier. It has noticable slowed the need to polish. I would not hesitate to use it on painted wheels for better care and quicker cleanups.

I think you missed cleaning the barrels. :p

UPGP is great on the wheels. Its so easy to apply and very durable. I used to use it in conjunction with DG AW in between washes to keep it fresh. But I've since switched to wolfs rim shield and wheel cleaner(wheel cleaner with nano sealants) on my personal vehicle.

Good stuff but when it wears off you'll want to Coat them. Especially given the brake dust issues with German car pads.
